I felt it was due time to start a blog writing about my journey as a saver-investor since I have attained my first goal of surpassing 100,000 in portfolio value. It was not an easy journey and I would say that there are a lot of sacrifices being made by my family to delay gratification for a better life in the near future.
Events which have occurred during this period were marriage followed by the birth of my 2 children. These events encouraged me to review my investment approach and objectives to shift from capital growth to achieving sustainable income.
Being the sole breadwinner in the household is no easy task. I am extremely fortunate to be able to reach my first goal within a span of 3 years with the unwavering support of my family. Initial phases were extremely difficult due to increasing expenses.
Net Salary after CPF deduction: $4500++
Estimated expenses per month: $3500++
